What is Financial Planning?

Financial planning means meeting your life goals by properly managing your finances. Financial planning provides direction and meaning to your financial decisions. The process allows you to understand how each financial decision you make can affect other areas of your life.

An effective financial planner helps a client set and prioritize short-term and long-term goals and stay on track by periodically re-evaluating the big picture and making adjustments as needed.

Financial planning can consist of but is not limited to:

  • Estate planning
  • Tax planning
  • Retirement planning
  • Funding for education
  • Insurance needs analyses
  • Budgeting / cash flow
  • Investment management
  • Succession planning for small-business owners
  • Real estate analysis
  • Strategies to minimize risks associated with highly concentrated asset positions

Our role is to help our clients achieve financial independence. We work with each client to create a customized financial plan.

Most financial planners are generalists, and we are no exception. When outside expertise is necessary, we tap into our extensive network of CPAs, estate planning lawyers, insurance consultants, and retirement benefits consultants. Regardless of who is involved, we maintain our role as coordinator to keep the client updated and complete the process.
